"Outbreak is known for their energetic, incendiary live shows and unstoppable work ethic. Once Bridge Nine Records heard their EP titled Eaten Alive (released on Western Front Records and later reissued on Think Fast! Records), they picked up the band and sent them into the studio to record their first Bridge Nine release You Make Us Sick. After more touring over the next year and a half, the band entered the studio to record their debut LP, Failure. Failure was recorded with Jim Siegel, the man who put classic records by Blood For Blood, American Nightmare, and Dropkick Murphys to tape. Siegel helped Outbreak perfect their mix hardcore and punk, combining influences like the ferocious speed of Bad Brains with the nihilism and misanthropy of Black Flag."
